Bob Weir - Ace (50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) [2 CD/FLAC-HD]

ACE:50TH ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION pairs a remastered new mix of Bobby’s solo debut with new versions  Bobby recorded earlier this year at Radio City Music Hall with the Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack and special guest guests Tyler Childers and Brittney Spencer.

When Bobby started working on ACE at Wally Heider’s Studio in San Francisco in early 1972, he wasn’t planning for the Grateful Dead to be his backing band. It just happened. “I pretty much knew in the back of my mind what would happen,” Weir told Crawdaddy a few months after the sessions. “I go and get the time booked and start putting the material together. Everybody gets wind of the fact I got the time booked and I may be going into the studio. So, one by one, they start coming around…”

It made sense, the band was already familiar with most of the music, having road-tested six of the album’s eight songs, including “Greatest Story Ever Told,” “Mexicali Blues,” and “Playing In The Band,” destined to become one of Weir’s signature tunes. ACE also marked the beginning of Weir’s long-running collaboration with lyricist John Perry Barlow and includes early standouts “Cassidy” and “Looks Like Rain.”

Yes - Songs From Tsongas - 35th Anniversary Concert [ LP + 2 DVD + 2 x DVDRIP] (2004)

Songs From Tsongas is the video release of a concert by the progressive rock group Yes recorded live at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Massachusetts, on May 15, 2004. The video features the entire concert performed that night, which was part of the US leg of the band's 35th anniversary tour.

The setlist features songs from all eras of the band's career, including a large number of progressive rock classics from their 1970s heyday, as well as a rare performance from the band's 1969 debut album, two tracks from the band's 1980s pop rock era, and the first performance of the 1996 epic "Mind Drive" from the overlooked Keys to Ascension albums (the band had never performed material from these recordings).

  • Steve Howe: guitar, vocals, mandolin

David Gilmour - Live in Gdańsk (2008, 5 LP + 2 CD) [FLAC-HD]

Live in Gdańsk is a live album by David Gilmour. It is a part of his On an Island project which includes an album, tour, DVD, and live album.

It is a recording of the final show of his On an Island Tour in 2006, where he played to an audience of 50,000 at the Gdańsk Shipyard to celebrate the founding of the Solidarity trade union. The show featured the song "A Great Day for Freedom", from the Pink Floyd album The Division Bell (1994) and was the only show of the tour to feature it. It was last performed by Gilmour during his semi-acoustic shows in 2002.

Pink Floyd - A Trip to the Moon The Early 1972 Concerts (11 CD, 2019)

11 CD Boxset of Pink Floyd rare audience recordings from their legendary early 1972 UK gigs

Poco - Crazy Eyes [1973/FLAC]

Poco is a Southern California country rock band originally formed by Richie Furay, Jim Messina and Rusty Young. Formed following the demise of Buffalo Springfield in 1968, Poco was part of the first wave of the West Coast country rock genre. The title of their first album, Pickin' Up the Pieces, is a reference to the break-up of Buffalo Springfield.

The third biggest-selling album in the group's history, Crazy Eyes is also the group's liveliest and most bracing work and contains some of their most soulful music. In short, it's the fruition of everything they'd been working toward for four years. Curiously, it's also one of a handful of examples of their use of outside help, including Chris Hillman on mandolin. The resulting sound is richer than anything found on any other Poco album, and the only tragedy is that the band reportedly cut enough tracks for two whole albums -- one longs to hear the material that remained in the can. As it is, there's not a weak song, or even a wasted note anywhere on this album, and most bands would kill for a closing track as perfect as "Let's Dance Tonight."

Frank Zappa - The Hot Rats Sessions (6 CD, 2019/FLAC)

Frank Zappa‘s second album Hot Rats was reissued for its 50th anniversary and include a 6CD box set full of previously unreleased sessions.

The mostly-instrumental LP came on the heels of the breakup of the original Mothers of Invention, making it clear that Zappa was a force with which to be reckoned as a composer. Described by the artist as “a movie for your ears,” Hot Rats was a fusion of jazz and rock as only Zappa could create. Recorded on 16 tracks (a first for a Zappa album), it featured the producer/arranger/guitar virtuoso (who also played bass and percussion) joined by The Mothers’ Ian Underwood as well as Max Bennett, Johnny Otis, Shuggie Otis, John Guerin, Paul Humphrey, Ron Selico, Don “Sugarcane” Harris, and Jean-Luc Ponty. Don Van Vliet, a.k.a. Captain Beefheart, provided the vocals on the lone non-instrumental, “Willie the Pimp.”

David Gilmour - Live at Pompeii (2 CD, 2017) [Hi-Res FLAC]

45 years after Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour filmed ‘Live At Pompeii’ in the legendary Roman Amphitheatre there, he returned for two spectacular shows, part of his year-long tour in support of his No.1 album ‘Rattle That Lock’. The performances were the first-ever rock concerts for an audience in the stone Roman amphitheatre, and, for two nights only, the 2,600 strong crowd stood exactly where gladiators would have fought in the first century AD. The show includes songs from throughout David's career, as well as many Pink Floyd classics, including 'One Of These Days', the only song that was also performed at the band’s 1971 show. Both concerts also saw very special performances of 'The Great Gig In The Sky' from 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' which David rarely plays as a solo artist. The 2-disc concert CD was produced by David Gilmour, and mixed by Andy Jackson and David Gilmour. David Gilmour Live At Pompeii’ shows an artist at the top of his artistic game, performing incredible material with his world-class band, in a unique setting on one very special occasion.

Emmylou Harris- Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2017/FLAC]

Probably the most consistent country artist of the past 40 years, and if not the mother of nu-country, then certainly one of its main informants, Emmylou Harris remains as popular and dynamic a performer today as she ever was. This triple-set collection features three superb FM broadcast recordings from across the girl s career to date. Beginning with a show she performed with Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels in 1973, this is followed on Disc 2 by a set recorded in Illinois a couple of years later in 75. This collection is then concluded with Emmylou s classic appearance at The Bottom Line, New York with Spyboy as her backing band.

Henry Cow - The 40th Anniversary Henry Cow Box Set [10 CD, 2009]

The progressive rock genre spawned many groups that became top-grossing arena acts -- Pink Floyd and Genesis are two -- as well as many who progressed right into obscurity. Henry Cow were one of the best known and most widely traveled English bands of the progressive era (though only a cult favorite in the U.S. and actually more popular in Continental Europe than in their home country), and their music has aged amazingly well over the ensuing decades due to the group's diverse influences (Oliver Messiaen, Kurt Weill, Frank Zappa, and Soft Machine were a few) and uncompromising creativity. Henry Cow functioned more or less as a collective, with a true group identity that changed from album to album as members came and went. This turnover was one factor in their consistent vitality; another was the dedicated core of the band, a serious, politicized trio whose interest in improvisation served to leaven the complexity they supplied as primary writers.

The Allman Brothers Band - Down in Texas '71 [2021/FLAC]

Down in Texas '71 is a live album by the Allman Brothers Band. It was recorded on September 28, 1971 at the Austin Municipal Auditorium in Austin, Texas.

This recording features the original lineup of the Allman Brothers Band. Saxophonist Rudolph "Juicy" Carter sits in on six of the nine songs.

In the Groove is Planet Drum's third album, following Planet Drum (1991) and Global Drum Project (2007). The Allman Brothers Band - Idlewild South (3 CD + BR Super Deluxe, 2015) [FLAC + Hi-Res]

Idlewild South is the second studio album by American southern rock band the Allman Brothers Band. Produced by Tom Dowd, the album was released on September 23, 1970 in the United States by Atco Records and Capricorn Records. Following the release of their 1969 debut, the Allman Brothers Band toured the United States extensively to promote the album, which had little commercial success. Their performances, however, did create positive word of mouth exposure that extended to more famous musicians, such as Eric Clapton, who invited group leader Duane Allman to contribute to his 1970 album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.

Stephen Stills- Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2017] (FLAC + 320)

Having spent over 50 years forging a quite extraordinary musical career, Stephen Stills remains a stunning musician, a consummate performer and the first person to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice on the same night, as he was in 1997 as a member of both Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

This triple-disc collection contains a selection of live radio broadcast recordings of Stephen in concert, made at various junctures during the man s awesome solo career. First up, disc one features two such transmissions, recorded in the fall of 1976 in Portland, Oregon and New York City in the wake of his own Illegal Stills album, and his joint record with Neil Young Long May You Run, both released earlier in 76. Next up, on disc two, Stills appearance at the 1978 Bread & Roses Festival is featured in its entirety, played about a month after the release of his Thoroughfare Gap album. However, he only performs the title track from the recent release, along with his version of Buddy Holly s Not Fade Away , filling his set instead largely with oldies and covers. On the third CD, Stephen s more recent but still wonderful concert from Las Vegas in 1995 is included, a show renowned as being among the finest, most electric shows Stills ever performed.

Woodstock: Back to the Garden (50th Anniversary Experience) [10 CD, 2019 / FLAC / FLAC-HD / 320]

Woodstock: Back to the Garden (50th Anniversary Experience) rises above its predecessors. A considerable expansion of Rhino’s 2009 six-CD set Woodstock 40 Years On: Back to Yasgur’s Farm, 50th Anniversary Experience is also a distillation of the gargantuan Woodstock: Back to the Garden: The Definitive 50th Anniversary Archive, a box that re-creates the entire three-day festival over the course of 38 CDs (all that’s missing are two Jimi Hendrix tunes his estate chose not to license, along with some Sha Na Na that never was taped). While the 38-CD set is an immersive, transportive experience, it’s also by definition a box set that appeals only to archivist, scholars and fanatics-the kind of listeners who don’t think twice at digging through a weekend’s worth of music and stage announcements. This ten-disc set, however, is a great choice for listeners who want to get a feel for the entire sprawling festival without devoting more than a day of their life to listening to Woodstock.

Sonar discography 2012-2018

Swiss experimental rock quartet Sonar (whose name is a portmanteau of "sonic" and "architecture") comprise guitarists Stephan Thelen and Bernhard Wagner, bassist Christian Kuntner, and drummer Manuel Pasquinelli. The bandmembers bring an array of talents uniquely suited to creating Sonar's precise and rhythmically complex yet spacious and streamlined post-minimalist sound, harmonically idiosyncratic with the guitars and bass tuned in tritones (an interval given the Latin name diabolus in musica -- the devil in music -- during medieval times). The California-born Thelen is a strong admirer of the early- to mid-'70s (Starless and Bible Black) and early- to mid-'80s (Discipline) editions of King Crimson, and participated with the Venezuela-born Wagner in Robert Fripp's Guitar Craft seminars in the '90s. Thelen (Sonar's principal composer) also studied classical guitar, and he earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Zurich. As a solo artist, Wagner performs and records using innovative live looping processes; he is also a software engineer. Kuntner and Pasquinelli are participants in a wide variety of bands and projects, and both are former students at the University of Arts in Bern.
