The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced (stereo & mono versions) (1967/2020) [SACD ISO]

When first released in 1967 in the U.S., Are You Experienced turned the music world upside down as Hendrix showed everyone exactly what it meant to be "experienced." This SACD returns to the original 11-song version that was originally released in August 1967. It contains such eternal classics as "Hey Joe", "Purple Haze", "The Wind Cries Mary", "Fire" and the title song, whose backward drum and guitar tracks and otherworldly guitar work still sound innovative almost a half-century later.

Jethro Tull - Songs From The Wood (40th Anniversary Edition - Steven Wilson Remix 2017) [24-96]

Jethro Tull’s tenth album was inspired by Ian Anderson’s departure to a more rural environment in a transition which bore clear influence on the writing and recording process, with the band notably doffing a cap to British folklore and countryside. Songs From The Wood is often referred to as one of the most commercially appealing Jethro Tull albums, containing elements of rock, prog and folk-rock.

Deep Purple - Made In Japan (Deluxe edition 2014) [24-96]

Together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, Deep Purple have been referred to as the unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-Seventies. One of the most influential and important guitar bands in history, they have sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

Made In Japan was recorded live over three nights during August 15 17, 1972 at Festival Hall, Osaka and Budokan, Tokyo. Four of the tracks come from the band s 1972 Machine Head album. It featured what many consider the classic Deep Purple lineup Ian Gillan (Vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (Guitars), Roger Glover (Bass), Jon Lord (Organ) and Ian Paice (Drums). Originally recorded only for the Japanese market, the album has since become seen as one of Deep Purple s seminal albums, and one of the greatest live albums of all time (A Rolling Stone reader s poll in 2012 voted Made In Japan as the sixth greatest live album of all time).

Christopher Anton Rea (born 4 March 1951) is an English rock and blues singer and guitarist from Middlesbrough. A "gravel-voiced guitar stalwart" known for his slide guitar playing, Rea has recorded twenty five solo albums, two of which topped the UK Albums Chart. Described as "rock's ultimate survivor", given his recovery from several bouts of serious illness, Rea was "a major European star by the time he finally cracked the UK Top 10" with his single "The Road to Hell (Part 2)". The album, The Road to Hell (1989), topped the album chart, as did its successor, Auberge (1991). His many hit songs include "I Can Hear Your Heartbeat", "Stainsby Girls", "Josephine", "On the Beach", "Let's Dance", "Driving Home for Christmas", "Working on It", "Tell Me There's a Heaven", "Auberge" and "Julia". He also recorded a duet with Elton John, "If You Were Me". Rea was nominated three times for the Brit Award for Best British Male Artist: in 1988, 1989 and 1990.

Taj Mahal - Savoy (2023) [24-96]

Taj Mahal
has released many kinds of albums in a six-decade career: folk, jump, country, blues of all stripes, sounds from Africa, the Caribbean, R&B, soul, collaborations with musicians from across the globe, and even children's records. Savoy moves in another direction still. Recorded in collaboration with producer, pianist, and longtime friend John Simon, this set offers blues-kissed reads of 14 tunes from the Great American Songbook. The album is titled as an homage to the iconic Harlem ballroom at 596 Lenox Ave. Mahal's parents met there in 1938 seeing Ella Fitzgerald front the Chick Webb Orchestra. Simon and Mahal discussed the project for decades, but August 2022 was when the planets aligned. They cut the set live with a core band and guests. Mahal's band includes guitarist Danny Caron, bassist Ruth Davies, Simon on piano, drummer Leon Joyce, Jr., and a vocal chorus with Carla Holbrook, Leesa Humphrey, and Charlotte McKinnon. Interestingly, Caron and Davies served in Charles Brown's band, and Joyce drummed with Ramsey Lewis for many years.

Little Steven ( Steven Van Zandt ) - Freedom – No Compromise (1987/2019 Deluxe) [24-96]

Freedom – No Compromise is the third solo studio album by Little Steven, released in May 1987 by EMI.

Following on the moderate success of Artists United Against Apartheid's "Sun City" in 1985, Steven Van Zandt's next record was a full-on dance-rock record, verging in places on world music. Bruce Springsteen and Rubén Blades join Van Zandt on lead vocals on "Native American" and "Bitter Fruit", respectively. Politics were even more at the forefront than before, centering on U.S. transgressions in Central America, South Africa, and against Native Americans. By this time, the old Disciples of Soul band had almost completely disappeared.

In 2019, the album was remastered for release as part of Van Zandt's career-spanning box set Rock N Roll Rebel: The Early Work. The digital deluxe edition of the album was released on November 29, 2019 containing five bonus tracks, along with the reissued Bitter Fruit bonus EP.

Led Zeppelin - Cabala [8 CD, 1995]

Cabala is an eight compact disc and single VHS box set featuring soundboard and audience bootleg recordings of the English rock group Led Zeppelin, released by Italian label Osoz in 1995.

This is a box set that has recordings from before the formation of Led Zeppelin right through until the Knebworth Silver Clef performance in 1990. It comprises a selection of previously expensive releases into a single set. The soundboard quality is excellent and creates a retrospective of Led Zeppelin's unofficial and unreleased body of work. The packaging includes 8 compact discs in separate picture sleeves, a VHS video in PAL format, and a 120 page booklet detailing all bootlegs to date including a 'Top 50 Rarest Led Zeppelin and Related Records' list. The original 1995 release suffered from printing problems with the artwork, which included incorrect concert dates, venues, and track lengths. A corrected version of the art is available at ZeppelinArt.com. There is still considerable debate over whether Jimmy Page actually performed on the Lucifer Rising takes.

Deadly Sting is a compilation album of hits and previously unreleased material by the German hard rock band Scorpions. The songs were culled from their catalog on the Mercury label.

Deadly Sting was released both as a single disc in 1995 and an expanded double-disc version in 1997. The single-disc album has 15 or 18 tracks depending on the country of release, which span from 1978 to 1988. The double-disc US release has 33 songs ranging from 1978 to 1995, including several previously unreleased studio tracks.

The original cover art gained controversy, as it depicted a naked woman being stung by a column of scorpions. An alternative cover with the woman airbrushed out was printed, which was used for the double-disc version of the album, subtitled The Mercury Years.

Glen Campbell - Wichita Lineman (1968/2016) [24-192]

This LP, a certified double-platinum album, captures Campbell's appeal at his most mainstream, mixing midtempo country-pop, spiced by a smooth if unambitious cover of Otis Redding's "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" and the prettiest version of Tim Hardin's "Reason to Believe" ever done. The latter two make the album hipper than Campbell himself seemed to most of us at the time.

Chris Wood - Evening Blue (4 CD, 2017) [FLAC]

Perhaps best known for co-founding Traffic with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi and Dave Mason, Chris Wood was self taught on Saxophone and Flute although he was also an accomplished keyboards player and bass guitarist too. And a fine artist as well; from Stourbridge College of Art, Chris was accepted by the Royal Academy in 1965 where he ultimately faced the choice – music or art.

The 4 CDs included music drawn from Chris’s entire career with his solo recordings taking centre-stage. We also featured alternate takes and mixes as well as previously unheard compositions and never-before-heard home demos and other sketches.

Naturally, there was music from Traffic as well as recordings by Gordon Jackson, John Martyn, Dave Mason, Jim Capaldi, Bobby Whitlock, Airforce, Martha Velez, Nick Drake, Shawn Phillips and others.

Evening Blue also featured Chris’s previously unheard collaborative work with The Wailers’ keyboard player, Tyrone Downie as well as Rebop Kwaku Baah, Remi Kabaka, The Sky, Dr John & Jeanette Jacobs. Tracks from the only known-to-survive recordings by the short-lived Mason, Capaldi, Wood & Frog line-up were also included as was a brand new 2015 collaboration – Maps with Chris Wood.
