Fleetwood Mac - The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions 1967-1969 (6 CD, 1999) [FLAC]

A six-CD set of everything Fleetwood Mac recorded for the British Blue Horizon label. Wait, you're saying, didn't they only do two albums for Blue Horizon before leaving the company in early 1969? True, but there were also the non-LP singles that comprised the bulk of the U.K. compilation The Pious Bird of Good Omen, the two albums of blues jams in Chicago that came out later in 1969, and the 1971 LP The Original Fleetwood Mac, comprised of early outtakes. Make each of those half-dozen LPs a CD, add some outtakes and alternate takes to each, and you've got a pretty full box. Unintentionally, this box makes the Mac a candidate for Most Erratic Major Rock Group of the Late 1960s, ranging from the sheer brilliance of Peter Green's songs to rote blues covers that are downright mundane, particularly some of the Jeremy Spencer showcases and Chicago blues jams. If you're a committed enough fan to consider buying this box, you already know that; you're probably more concerned with whether the previously unreleased material merits the cost. Those extras are marginal, to be honest, comprised largely of false starts, incidental studio chatter, and alternate versions that are pretty close to the official takes. Certainly the highlight of those newly unearthed tracks is the 37 minutes of alternate takes of "Need Your Love So Bad." It's also nice that the Danny Kirwan tracks that appeared only on the U.S. album English Rose are here as well. Unfortunately, this is not a complete retrospective of the Peter Green era, whose best material was recorded for Reprise; there's also a lot of noteworthy live stuff that appeared on different labels.

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - Transmission Impossible (3 CD, 2020) [FLAC]

Formed in London in 1967 by guitarist Peter Green, drummer Mick Fleetwood and guitarist Jeremy Spencer, with bassist John McVie completing the line-up for their self-titled debut album, Fleetwood Mac began as a very different beast to the one they would become by the mid-1970s. Danny Kirwan joined as third guitarist in 1968 and keyboardist Christine Perfect, who contributed as a session musician from the second album, married John McVie and joined in 1970. Primarily a British blues band initially, they scored a UK number one with 'Albatross', and had lesser hits with the singles 'Oh Well' and 'Black Magic Woman', the latter successfully covered by Santana. All three guitarists left in succession during the early 1970s, changing the sound of the group quite dramatically.

This triple disc set celebrates the early days of Fleetwood Mac, focussing as it does on the group's live recordings and radio sessions. Featuring, on disc one, their superb San Francisco gig at the Carousel Ballroom in 1968 in its entirety (previously only released in part), disc two contains Fleetwood Mac's complete BBC Radio Sessions from 1968 recorded for shows such as Top Gear and Saturday Club. The set is completed on disc there with their legendary concert performed in New Orleans at The Warehouse venue, in January 1970.

Peter Green - The Anthology (4 CD Deluxe, 2008/FLAC)

2008 four CD set, the most extensive retrospective look at Peter Green's truly legendary career. The set contains essential Peter Green music drawn from all stages of his career. From his first tentative recordings with the likes of Peter Barden's and John Mayall, it moves through the genesis of Fleetwood Mac and the band's many classic blues recordings including 'Ramblin' Pony' and 'Black Magic Woman'. Fleetwood Mac's subsequent blues and rock fusion chart hits - titles like the utterly unique 'Albatross', 'Oh Well' and the haunting 'Man of the World' - are all included, as is the best of his later solo work and Splinter Group recordings. Quite simply, this is the ultimate Peter Green collection - a special release befitting a special musician and songwriter who is rightly one of the most revered blues guitarists of all time.

Fleetwood Mac - Transmission Impossible (3 CD, 2018 / FLAC)

This spectacular 3 x CD set features some of the finest live shows ever performed by Fleetwood Mac! Formed in London in 1967, Fleetwood Mac have gone through as many personnel changes across the last 50 years as any band from that era still in existence. And although two members from the start still remain on board in the shape of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, and Christine Perfect (later McVie s wife, after which she adopted his name) joined in 69, the biggest change came when Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joined Mac in 1975. This spectacular 3 x CD set features some of the finest live shows ever performed by Fleetwood Mac, kicking off with a performance the newly-augmented band gave in December 1977 in Tokyo, Japan, some 10 months after the release of their classic Rumours LP. Next up is a gig played at the Inglewood Forum in California in October 1982, hot on the heels of their Mirage album, released a little earlier that year. The set is concluded with a large scale show the band gave in Sydney, while on their 1990 Beyond The Mask tour. Featuring too a number of bonus cuts from some early television appearances, this delightful CD set will no doubt become a must-have item for fans of the band everywhere!

Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green : The Early Years 1968-1970 (DVDRIP video)

This is the probably the only video (story) recording during Peter Green's playing days with Fleetwood Mac. This video follows the band in their Bitish blues heyday. This is long before the the pop rock band that most people are familiar with. The music and the video are raw and capture the time in which they were made.

VA - The Many Faces of Fleetwood Mac (3 CD, 2019/FLAC)

It's extremely hard to think of any band that completely pivots lineups and stylistic approaches, and then turns out well—unless of course you're Fleetwood Mac. Formed in the U.K. as a hard-edged British blues combo in the late '60s, the troupe eventually gradually morphed into a polished pop/rock act over the course of a decade, and in the process, became one of the most influential American bands of the '70s. In The Many Faces of Fleetwood Mac, we will go down the rabbit hole to explore the lesser known side of the band and also to review the work of most of its 18 past and current members. To complete our journey, we will enjoy the band live during one of their most popular concerts of their half-a-century career.

Fleetwood Mac - Before the Beginning 1968-1970 : Rare Live & Demo Sessions [3 CD, 2019/FLAC]

Two live recordings featuring Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac have been found and are being released officially as Before the Beginning 1968- 1970: Rare Live & Demo Sessions.

The discovered recordings date from 1968 and 1970 and were discovered unlabelled in the US, so not much is known about them other than they have been authenticated by experts and approved for release by Fleetwood Mac.

These live performances almost bookend Peter Green’s tenure with the band as the 1968 recording represents the band in their early stages while the 1970 recording will, in contrast, be one of their final shows before Peter left the band. The earlier set contains early incarnations of ‘Madison Blues’ and ‘I Need Your Love So Bad’ from the blues era and the likes of ‘Long Tall Sally’ and ‘Willie and the Hand Jive’. The 1970 performance includes ‘Oh Well’, ‘Green Manalishi’ and the UK number one ‘Albatros’.

Before the Beginning 1968-1970 is being issued as a three-CD set containing all the live recordings and four previously unreleased demos.

Fleetwood Mac- Tusk [5 CD Deluxe Edition, 2015]

Considering that a large portion of the Fleetwood Mac catalog has never been upgraded from the original CD pressings decades ago, it’s a little unsettling that we now have a second expanded reissue of the 1979 double album Tusk.

Reportedly the most expensive rock album ever made, the sprawling, 20-track double album followed up the record-shattering success of Rumours and confounded observers expecting another collection of radio-friendly pop-rockers.

Fleetwood Mac - Live (3 CD Deluxe Edition, 2021) [FLAC]

When Fleetwood Mac released its first live album in December 1980, it captured the legendary band’s most iconic line-up on stage demonstrating the full scope of their collective, creative powers.
Recorded mostly during the world tour for Tusk, Fleetwood Mac Live delivered a double-album’s worth of exhilarating performances that included massive hits like “Dreams” and “Go Your Own Way,” “Rhiannon,” and “Don’t Stop.”

On April 9th, we’re giving the band’s live debut a much-deserved encore with a deluxe edition collection that features a remastered version of the original release on HighResAudio.

Fleetwood Mac- The Vaudeville Years 1968-1970 [2 CD, 1998/FLAC]

Two CDs' worth of outtakes, alternate versions, and full-length versions from the Peter Green era, most in exemplary sound quality. Although much of this is interesting, and it's occasionally very good, it resembles Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac Live at the BBC in its unevenness, both in aesthetic quality and in stylistic tone. One is struck by how much the numbers featuring Green's singing and songwriting surpass those in which the other guitarists come to the fore.
