Jimi Hendrix Experience - Limited Edition 8 LP Box Set (2000) [24-96]

The power and vision of Jimi Hendrix is restored anew with this edition of the acclaimed box set, The Jimi Hendrix Experience. First released in 2000, The Jimi Hendrix Experience presents previously unreleased concert and studio recordings which span the visionary guitarist's remarkable four year career from 1966-1970. Beginning with the first known recordings of the Jimi Hendrix Experience in October 1966 to the guitarist's final multi-track recording session at Electric Lady Studios in August 1970, this unique set concentrates on unreleased or commercially unavailable music. Alternate versions of classics like 'Purple Haze,' 'Foxy Lady' and 'Little Wing' mix with stunning, unheard Hendrix music such as 'It's Too Bad' and 'Country Blues.' These recordings - presented in chronological order - trace the meteoric ascent of the greatest guitarist of all time.

Jimi Hendrix - Machine Gun: The Filmore East First Show 12-31-1969 (2016) [SACD ISO]

Machine Gun: The Fillmore East First Show
is a live album by Jimi Hendrix, featuring songs recorded during the first set at the Fillmore East in New York City on December 31, 1969. Hendrix is backed by Billy Cox on bass and Buddy Miles on drums, a lineup frequently referred to as the Band of Gypsys. Except for “Hear My Train A Comin'” and “Lover Man”, the eleven songs represent new material that had not been performed by the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
The album further documents Hendrix’s four sets on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day with the Band of Gypsys. It adds to the previously released material on Band of Gypsys (1970), Band of Gypsys 2 (1986), Live at the Fillmore East (1999), and West Coast Seattle Boy: The Jimi Hendrix Anthology (2010). All of the tracks, except for “Hear My Train A Comin'”, “Changes” and “Izabella”, appear for the first time on an official release.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced (stereo & mono versions) (1967/2020) [SACD ISO]

When first released in 1967 in the U.S., Are You Experienced turned the music world upside down as Hendrix showed everyone exactly what it meant to be "experienced." This SACD returns to the original 11-song version that was originally released in August 1967. It contains such eternal classics as "Hey Joe", "Purple Haze", "The Wind Cries Mary", "Fire" and the title song, whose backward drum and guitar tracks and otherworldly guitar work still sound innovative almost a half-century later.

Jimi Hendrix - 2 Nights at the Fillmore East (6 CD, 2007) [FLAC]

'Changes' was a song that could have summarized Jimi Hendrix's life in 1969: arrested on heroin possession charges in Canada in May, the break-up of The Experience in June, formation and disbanding of a new group in July to play Woodstock, forming yet another group in October and, finally, acquittal of charges in December. It was just another turbulent year in the short, incandescent career of one of the 20th century's most influential musicians...

Jimi Hendrix - The Complete PPX Studio Recordings - Vol. 1-6 - (1999/FLAC)

In 1997, SPV Records in Germany released six volumes titled The Authentic PPX Studio Recordings. Now, here in 1999, Nippon Crown of Japan is offering that same set a 6CD box set as Jimi Hendrix: The Complete PPX Recordings (CRCL-4729-34).

During two studio sessions in 1965 and 1967, plus a live set at George's Club in Hackensack, New Jersey, Jimi Hendrix recorded tracks with Curtis Knight. Under contract to, and under the direction of producer Ed Chalpin, these studio sessions at PPX Studios in New York became infamous. Not only for being one of the earliest known studio sessions featuring Hendrix as a lead performer, but for the legal embattlement the sessions created.

THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE

The complete 1966 & 1967 studio sessions on 8 CD

Jimi Hendrix - Live in Scandinavia - Vol 2 [6 CD , 2007] (FLAC)

The 1969 tour finds Jimi and the Experience heading out on what would be the original Experience’s final tour. The second series of recordings, drawn from 1970, found the band (often billed as the Experience but featuring Jimi, Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox) fresh from the previous day’s massive Isle Of Wight concert performing the first of these concerts in Stockholm. Jimi Hendrix however would be dead in just over two weeks after commencing this brief Scandinavian tour which followed as series of concerts in Germany that had ended in disarray.

Vol 2: Scandinavia had proved to be an extremely positive and fertile market for the music of Jimi Hendrix. This boxed set contains recordings from two specific tours and although there is only twelve months between the two sets of concerts captured here much had happened to Jimi between the two tours.

VA - The Many Faces Of Jimi Hendrix (3 CD, 2017/FLAC)

2017 triple CD collection celebrating the music of guitar legend Jimi Hendrix. We start Disc One with Hendrix playing with Curtis Knight, a little-known Harlem artist, who had his own band, The Squires, in which Jimi played for a while. Next, we find Jimi playing with rock and roll pioneer Little Richard on the track 'I Do Not Know What You've Got But It's Got Me'. Then, we meet Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell, bass player and drummer of Experience, the trio with whom Hendrix became a superstar, guided by the hand of producer and manager Chas Chandler. We can hear Mitch Mitchell playing with Bruce Cameron, a fantastic guitarist with a style very reminiscent of Hendrix. We also include in The Many Faces the band Cork, that Noel Redding created along Corky Laing (from Mountain) and with guitarist Eric Schenkman from the Spin Doctors. Before joining Band Of Gypsys as it's drummer (the brief group that Jimi set up after the dissolution of Experience) Buddy Miles had a solid career as member of Electric Flag. As a fun trivia fact we decided to include two songs performed by Betty Davis, who used to be a very close friend of Jimi (many say she was his lover). The second CD of The Many Faces consists of recording sessions prior to Jimi's rise to stardom, some alongside saxophonist Lonnie Youngblood, others with the very same Experience (a brilliant version of the song 'Red House') and also with Little Richard's band. Finally, on CD 3 we immerse ourselves in Jimi's repertoire, his fantastic songs, songs that sometimes have ended up being eclipsed by the fact that he was a guitar God. These recordings are performed by artists who in many cases have Hendrix's music as a starting point for their own career. Needless to say the versions are amazing. Now, let's just get comfortable and enjoy The Many Faces Of Jimi Hendrix.

Jimi Hendrix - Original Vinyl Transfer Series-1st Batch (20LP Pack Bootlegs/FLAC)

 1967-1970 Part 1 & 2 (20 LP Pack Bootlegs):

This is a fantastic 20 volume vine that comes from JPIO - a Jimi Hendrix vine group.
The charm of this set is that it has been tranferred straight from vinyl without lots of remastering so it is like listening to the original vinyl and in places you can still hear the pops and crackles which were such an important feature of listening to an LP or single on a turntable.
