Pacific Northwest ’73 – ’74: The Complete Recordings includes every note the Grateful Dead played at P.N.E. Coliseum in Vancouver on June 22, 1973; at Portland Memorial Coliseum in Portland on June 24, 1973; at Seattle Center Arena in Seattle on June 26, 1973; at P.N.E. Coliseum on May 17, 1974; at Portland Memorial Coliseum on May 19, 1974 and at Hec Edmundson Pavilion in Seattle on May 21, 1974 spread across 19 discs. Jeffrey Norman mastered the original tapes in HDCD after a restoration process was completed by Plangent Processes.










The Grateful Dead’s lineup at the time featured guitarists Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir, vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux, keyboardist Keith Godchaux, bassist Phil Lesh and drummer Bill Kreutzmann. “This is a boxed set that’s a long time coming. A couple of the shows have come very, very close to being released on their own through the Grateful Dead’s archival release programs of the past 20 years, but we always held off in the hopes and expectations that they’d make a better boxed set,” said Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux in a statement. “The music at each and every one of these six shows is unique, special, inspired, and at times transcendent. The shows contain some of the most famous moments in Grateful Dead live history, including the ‘Bird Song’ from Vancouver ’73, the Portland ’74 ‘Truckin” jam, and the 47-minute ‘Playing In The Band’ from Seattle ’74. Each of these six shows has a distinct musical personality, and we’re excited that you can get to know all of them in their entirety, sounding better than we’ve ever heard them.”
