Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - Transmission Impossible (3 CD/FLAC)

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, in 1954, Stevie Ray Vaughan moved to Austin in 1972 and formed Double Trouble in 1978 where he established the group as part of the Austin music scene, becoming one of the most popular acts in Texas. They performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1982 before being discovered by John Hammond, who interested major label Epic Records in signing them to a deal. Within months, Vaughan achieved mainstream success with Double Trouble for the critically acclaimed debut album Texas Flood. With a series of successful network television appearances and extensive concert tours, he became the leading figure in the blues revival of the 1980s. Tragically, Stevie Ray, along with four others, was killed in a helicopter crash thirty years ago, in August 1990. Vaughan s legacy however has remained hugely potent ever since, and he is still generally considered to be the finest rock and blues guitarist since Jimi Hendrix.

This elegant, triple-CD set brings together the finest live broadcast recordings made across his career, which in completion forms a stunning collection of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble s live work.

DISC ONE features a very early show from Double Trouble recorded at The King's Head Inn, Norfolk, VA, on 22nd July 1980, soon after the trio were formed.

DISC TWO brings things forward seven years to when the group played at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia, PA., on 30th June 1987. And concluding this sterling collection,

DISC THREE is one of Double Trouble s final shows as a trio, recorded at The Alpine Valley Music Theatre, East Troy, WI, on 25th August 1990, Stevie Ray s penultimate gig before tragedy struck.

Def Leppard - Slang (Deluxe Edition, 2 CD/2014) [FLAC]

Slang
was first released in May 1996 and is considered the band’s most underrated album. At the time of its release, the music industry was at the height of the 90s grunge scene and Def Leppard with bands like Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam were dominating the airwaves.  As a testament to their music transcending through time, Slang was recognized for its musical departure from the band’s signature sound. The collection incorporated new sonic elements that gave the album a slightly darker introspective mood than their previous releases. As Phil Collen stated in an interview with Metal Hammer UK, “We've all got personal things that have happened during the recording of Slang, and we've just ploughed on and some of it has come out on the record.”

The Slang reissue containing the original 11 album tracks re-mastered and original rare bonus tracks made up of demos, alternate versions and mixes with a series of new songs recorded during the time the band was creating Slang. Most of these additional bonus tracks have never been released.
