Free - Songs of Yesterday (5 CD, 2000) [FLAC + 320]

This is an imported 5 cd anthology which summarizes the career of the British band Free.

The first three discs contain remastered versions (excellent sound), alternate takes, non-lp tracks and unissued tracks from their career. The fourth disc contains alternate versions and unissued tracks from their live album. The last disc summarizes the solo career of the members of the band.

After the first break-up of Free in the spring of 1971, Rodgers briefly formed a three-piece band called Peace. Alongside bassist Stewart McDonald and drummer Mick Underwood, Rodgers played guitar and sang lead vocal. Peace supported Mott the Hoople's UK tour in 1971, but broke up when Free reformed at the start of 1972. Two songs by Peace were eventually included on the fifth disc of the 2000 Free compilation Songs of Yesterday, along with a song that Rodgers recorded with the Maytals. A bootleg has circulated of a 22 December 1971 appearance by Peace on the BBC's Top Gear program.

The Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker (30th Anniversary Deluxe) [3 CD, 2021] [24-96]

Shake Your Money Maker (also stylized as The Black Crowes Present: $hake Your Money Maker) is the debut studio album by American rock band The Black Crowes, released on February 13, 1990 on Def American Recordings. It is the only album by the band to feature guitarist Jeff Cease. The album is named after a classic blues song written by Elmore James. The Black Crowes have played the song live many times over the years, but it is not included on this album.

Natalie Merchant - Keep Your Courage (2023) [24-96]

The first full-length solo studio release in nine years for singer-songwriter Natalie Merchant features a guest appearance from Abena Koomson-Davis and contributions from Kinan Azmeh, Steve Davis, and LĂșnasa.

All ten songs on Merchant’s ninth solo studio album, Keep Your Courage, concern love of some kind or other. (The vinyl LP edition includes four bonus tracks from earlier records, previously unreleased on vinyl.) She wrote all but one song, and it’s her first record of all-new material in almost ten years. The songs are not topical in the traditional sense, with no explicit references to COVID, climate change, and political turmoil. Instead, Merchant addresses Aphrodite, Narcissus, St. Valentine, her guardian angel, and other mythic figures. The twirling dervish of a singer intones in symbol and metaphor to offer her discovered truths.
