VA - The Many Faces Of Yes [3 CD, 2014/FLAC]

 

The Many Faces of Yes presents an unknown side of the band, with recordings by the group as a whole and also by solo members, including rarities and other gems. On CD 1, "The BBC Sessions", the group is presented in their original lineup (Jon Anderson on vocals, Peter Banks on guitar, Bill Bruford on drums, Chris Squire on bass and Tony Kaye on keyboards) with their performanc es in the London's BBC Radio. CD 2 is titled "Before and After Yes' Projects" and contains songs by several members of the group recorded before and after they were part of the band. CD 3 is titled "Playin' Their Favourite Songs" and its name says it all. Members and former members of Yes playing songs from Pink Floyd, Genesis and even the AOR classic "More Than A Feeling" by Boston.

Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Tony Rice - The Pizza Tapes - Extra Large Edition [3 CD, 2000/FLAC]

 

The informal once-in-a lifetime jam session that brought guitar icons Jerry Garcia and Tony Rice together with their mandolin-picking host David Grisman was recorded in Dawg Studios on two successive evenings in February, 1993. The Pizza Tapes CD (2000) which included only part of that historical meeting soon became an acoustic classic and one of Acoustic Disc's most popular releases.

The newly released Extra Large 170-minute edition of this legendary session, includes the entire session with 16 previously unissued alternate takes in addition to the original master takes in their original sequence. This unique collection also features more of the personal repartee, which made the original release so endearing and insightful - the anatomy of this very special jam.

Deep Purple - Listen, Learn, Read On [6 CD, 2002/FLAC]

 

Listen, Learn, Read On is a box set released by the British hard rock band Deep Purple in 2002.

It is a collection of 74 tracks distributed in six CDs, around a quarter of which were unreleased prior to the album; all the tracks were subject to extensive re-mastering at EMI's Abbey Road Studios. The set starts with a selection of early tracks by the members of the band before they joined Deep Purple.

The box set also houses a format book written by Deep Purple archivist Simon Robinson, which tells the band's story via 120 pages of text, pictures, cuttings, memorabilia, musician profiles and discographies.

Listen, Learn, Read On has been deleted from EMI's catalogue and is no longer in production. 

Gov't Mule - Mulennium [3 CD, 2010/FLAC]

 

This is the first Gov't Mule release featuring the original trio since the passing of Allen Woody. Recorded live at the Roxy in Atlanta, GA on December 31, 1999.

Since 1994, Gov't Mule has celebrated the upcoming New Year with unique fan-pleasing concerts that showcase their wide-ranging repertoire, virtuosic musicianship and commitment to their fans. New Year's is very special not only to the fans but to the band as well.

December 31, 1999, ushered in a new century and millennium and called for something truly magical - and that nights show at Atlanta's historic Fox theater delivered it. What made the show so extraordinary? For starters, Little Milton, one of Warren Haynes' most important influences, joins Gov't Mule for six songs including 'I Can't Quit You Baby' and 'It Hurts Me Too'. Other special guests include longtime Mule friends and collaborators Audley Freed (Black Crows), Robert Kearns, Johnny Mosier, Mark Van Allen and Barry Richman. Secondly, this show contains many Mule covers played for the first time including The Black Crows 'Sometimes Salvation' and King Krimson's '21st Century Schzoid Man'.

Legendary songwriter, vocalist, guitarist and 19-time Grammy Award-winner Eric Clapton has  released a brand-new ‘Best Of' compilation, entitled Forever Man. Featuring 51 tracks over three CDs, Forever Man spans three decades of Clapton's Reprise Records years and features classic studio tracks and a Blues-themed disc.

The collection traces much of Clapton's career featuring the Grammy Award-winning tracks "Change The World", "Tears In Heaven", "Bad Love" and including materials from Eric's Grammy Award-winning albums From The Cradle and Unplugged. Guest performers include B.B. King and J.J. Cale.
