Grateful Dead - Steppin' Out with the Grateful Dead: England '72 (4 CD, 2002) [FLAC]

Steppin' Out with the Grateful Dead: England '72 is a live box set from the Grateful Dead that collects performances from seven of their eight shows in England during their spring 1972 tour of Europe (their first tour of the UK and continental Europe)

The band visited England three times on the tour. They had booked four concerts in London (condensed to two) and one for Newcastle before touring mainland Europe. After the tour began, an opportunity came to return to England to play the stormy Bickershaw Festival, in between dates in Paris and Amsterdam. To make up for the poor sound and crowded shows at the last-minute replacement venue, the Empire Pool, they added more dates at the end of the tour, returning again to London for four performances at the acoustically favorable Lyceum Theatre in the West End.

Smokin' Joe Kubek discography [FLAC + 320]

Smokin' Joe Kubek (November 30, 1956 – October 11, 2015) was an American Texas blues electric guitarist, songwriter, and performer.

Born in Grove City, Pennsylvania, Kubek grew up in the Dallas, Texas area. In the 1970s during his teen years, he played with the likes of Freddie King and in the 1980s began performing with Louisiana-born singer, Bnois King.

In 1985, Kubek released his first record on Bird Records, a 45 RPM single with the tracks "Driving Sideways" (written by Freddie King and Sonny Thompson) and "Other Side Of Love" (written by Doyle Bramhall, Sr.). The single was executively produced by Clint Birdwell and co-produced by Charley Wirz and Kubek. The two tracks reappeared on Kubek's 2012 album, Let That Right Hand Go, produced by Clint Birdwell and issued on Birdwell's label, Bird Records Texas. The album is a collection of mostly unreleased material recorded since the 1980s (with the 1985 single's track, "Other Side Of Love", entitled "The Other Side Of Love").

In 1991, Kubek released his first full-length album entitled Steppin' Out Texas Style (Bullseye Blues Records) and has since released over a dozen albums on various labels.

He died on Sunday, 2015, October 11, of a heart attack, friends of the Dallas blues guitarist have confirmed.

Rolling Stones - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! [2009, 3CD + DVD - 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition]

"GET YER YA-YA'S OUT!" - recorded in 1969 over two nights at Madison Square Garden - is the last official live document of the Rolling Stones in their swaggering Sixties prime; it's also one of the greatest live albums of all time.

Expectations were high for the band on its 1969 tour, the Stones' first in the U.S. in three years, and their first outing without guitarist Brian Jones, who had died that summer. They delivered in spades. Keith Richards and new guitarist Mick Taylor combined for angry workouts on Ya-Ya's' "Midnight Rambler" - the album's bluesy nine-minute masterpiece - and a stark, rubbery "Sympathy For The Devil." Mick Jagger and Richards pull apart Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie" into a raunchy romp, as if to prove they had fully mastered the rock form.

This three-disc remastered Ya-Ya's includes the original in all its gritty glory. Disc Two is a five-song EP from the same shows, with acoustic performances - "Prodigal Son" and "You Gotta Move" - from Richards (playing a resonator guitar) and Jagger. The third disc is an unexpected treat: blistering sets by openers B.B. King plus Ike and Tina Turner (doing an outrageously steamy take on Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long"). And serious rock geeks will enjoy the final flourish.

The Beatles - Complete BBC Sessions [10 CD, 2004] [FLAC]

The Beatles performed for fifty-two BBC Radio programmes, beginning with an appearance on the series Teenager's Turn—Here We Go, recorded on 7 March 1962, and ending with the special The Beatles Invite You to Take a Ticket to Ride, recorded on 26 May 1965; in total, 275 performances of 88 different songs were broadcast. Early bootlegs of some of the performances were based on low-quality home recordings of the broadcasts from the radio. It was not the BBC's practice to archive either the session tapes or the shows' master tapes, but many good quality distribution copies were found in various BBC departments during research for BBC radio specials produced in the 1980s.

Elvis Presley - The Complete '70s Albums Collection (21 CD, 2015) [24-96]

Elvis Presley may be the single most important figure in American 20th century popular music. Not necessarily the best, and certainly not the most consistent. But no one could argue with the fact that he was the musician most responsible for popularizing rock & roll on an international level. Viewed in cold sales figures, his impact was phenomenal. Dozens upon dozens of international smashes from the mid-’50s to the mid-’70s, as well as the steady sales of his catalog and reissues since his death in 1977, may make him the single highest-selling performer in history.

VA - Cruisin' Story 1955-1960 (12 CD, 2011/FLAC)

Early rock & roll was in love with motion, cars, Saturday nights, dancing, and, of course, young love, and as a genre, initially embraced by teens, it gradually took over and reshaped pop radio between 1955 and 1960, the period covered by this generous three-disc, 75-track collection. Every track here is a classic of the time period, but some of the clear highlights include the Penguins' “Earth Angel,” Chuck Berry's “Maybelline,” Fats Domino's “Ain’t That a Shame,” Frankie Lymon's “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” Little Willie John's “Fever,” Buddy Holly's “That’ll Be the Day,” Duane Eddy's “Rebel Rouser,” Roy Orbison's “Only the Lonely,” and the Ventures' “Walk Don’t Run,” among many other timeless gems. It’s a fun collection, it’s history, and, oh yeah, you can dance to it.
