Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus (Super Deluxe, 8 CD, 2022) [FLAC]

With their 1978 double concert album WAITING FOR COLUMBUS, Little Feat staked their claim as one of the premier live bands of the ‘70s. Recorded over a series of dates in London and Washington, D.C. over the summer of 1977, WAITING FOR COLUMBUS vividly captures the L.A. sextet at a crossroads between its swampy mid-'70s fusion of blues, country, jazz and New Orleans R&B. This special 8CD SUPER DELUXE EDITION comprises the original album remastered across CDs 1 and 2 with the remaining 6 discs comprising 3 previously unreleased in full live shows from the original run of live recordings that comprised the WAITING FOR COLUMBUS album. CDs 3 and 4 include a previously unreleased live show recorded at Manchester City Hall in Manchester, England on July 29, 1977. CDs 5 and 6 include a previously unreleased in full show recorded at The Rainbow in London, England on August 2, 1977. CDs 7 and 8 include a previously unreleased in full live show recorded at Lisner Auditorium in Washington D.C. on August 10, 1977. It’s a deep dive into truly one of the best live albums ever and is the definitive edition of a classic that truly will "boogie your speakers away.

Endless Boogie 2008-2019 Vol.01 [6CDs]

Endless Boogie is an American rock band, formed in 1997 in Brooklyn, New York. The current line-up of the band consists of Paul Major (vocals, guitar), Jesper Eklow (guitar), Marc Razo (bass) and Harry Druzd (drums). The band takes its name from John Lee Hooker's 1971 album of the same name.

The band was formed in 1997 by Matador Records employees and a professional record collector for jamming. Initially having no plans to record or to tour, the band played their first live show in 2001 as an opening act for Pavement's Stephen Malkmus. After releasing a pair of rare vinyl LPs from 2005, the band released the albums Focus Level in 2008 and Full House Head in 2010. Touring with bands such as Dungen and Circle, the band released their fourth album, Long Island in 2013

The band's style has been labeled as hard rock, psychedelic rock, stoner rock and blues rock. The band's minimalist musical style also attributes krautrock influences, being described as "classic-rock-meets-krautrock" and " repetitive, one-chord riff-rock." The band described their musical style as "Kraut Southern rock."

The band's style also has been compared to those of ZZ Top, AC/DC, Teenage Head-era Flamin’ Groovies, Canned Heat, Amon Düül, Can, The Groundhogs, The Stooges and the Velvet Underground. Tom Hughes of The Guardian described Major's vocals as being "somewhere between a John Lee Hooker drawl and a Captain Beefheart honk

The band is known for "its minimalist jams both onstage and on record.

Two or three guitars, whatever amps you got, one wah pedal, one distortion box. The bass, the drums. Reluctant vocals, that’s all we need.

Present Band Members:

Paul "Top Dollar" Major – vocals, guitar

Jesper "The Governor" Eklow – guitar

Marc Razo – bass

Harry Druzd – drums

Former member - Chris Gray – drums

Chicago - At Carnegie Hall, Vol I-IV (4 CD, 1971/FLAC)

After issuing three consecutive studio double LPs, Chicago topped themselves with this four-album live box set. As the title suggests, At Carnegie Hall, Vols. 1-4 (Chicago IV) (1971) finds the band at the venerable New York City venue during a five-night stand (April 5-April 10) in the spring of 1971. The septet — which includes the respective talents of Terry Kath (lead guitar/vocals), Robert Lamm (keyboards/vocals), Peter Cetera (bass/vocals), Danny Seraphine (drums), Lee Loughnane (trumpet/vocals), James Pankow, and Walter Parazaider (woodwinds/vocals) — were at their unquestionable peak of initial popularity.

VA - African Guitar Box [5 LP, 2012]

5 LP box set of classic African guitar based music recorded between 1951 & 1970. Mostly solo performances with guitar & vocals.

The first disc features classic acoustic guitar music from all over the African disporia, with an emphasis on Congolese & Kenyan artists. The second disc has all electric guitar performances with minimal accompaniment on percussion – nothing remotely funk based. The third disc features a mix of acoustic & electric performances. Disc four presents more challenging compositional music on acoustic guitar than found on the previous 3 discs – not easy listening by any means, but very rewarding. The final disc is the most sublime & peaceful acoustic guitar & vocal performances you could ever imagine!

The Allstars From Charlottesville VA. - Tip Your Waitress [1978]

In late December, 1972, Richard Green alit Amtrak’s Southern Crescent from NYC to Charlottesville, VA., bearing his life’s possessions—four records, a backpack and a Stratocaster—planning on a quick visit. Ten years later (neither he nor anyone else can remember exactly when), he decamped for Washington, DC, having increased his holdings to include a box of books, two boxes of records, a second guitar and a trash bag full of clothes.

In the intervening years, he formed, led and ultimately dissolved what arguably was the most influential central Virginia band of its period, the Charlottesville Allstars. The Allstars was the first local band to tour extensively, ultimately working 250 to 300 one-nighters per year. The band broke open major markets such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington and Atlanta for other local bands. Their sole album, “Tip Your Waitress,” was the only commercial LP released by any contemporary Charlottesville band. As many as 20 musicians passed through the Allstars lineup, including players who went on to notoriety in the Skip Castro Band and the Stoned Wheat Things.

Spurred by renewed interest in the 70s music scene inspired by the documentary film “Live . . . from the Hook,” the Allstars reunited in 2007 for a limited schedule of gigs. The current lineup represents the band’s definitive period, from 1976 to 1979. In addition to Green on guitar and vocals are virtuoso Doug Jay, harmonica and vocals; co-founder Steve Bliley, guitar; and the authoritative rhythm section of Paul Hammond, drums and vocals; and Steve Riggs, bass.

This re-release includes no less than 5 previously unreleased performances, all remastered for the digital domain.

Bill Bruford - Making a Song and Dance: A Complete-Career Collection (6 CD, 2022/FLAC)

Over the past 50 years Bill Bruford has been one of the most original and innovative drummers across multiple genres. Making A Song and Dance: A Complete Career Collection is a 6CD Boxset that charts some of the many highlights of Bruford’s incredible career and is released on 29th April through BMG.

From early steps with progressive legends YES and a quarter of a century in King Crimson, to ground-breaking jazz fusion leading his own Bruford and Earthworks projects, Bill Bruford has always wanted to explore his chosen discipline to the full – and then push the boundaries further. This desire to challenge convention has created some breath-taking moments and made Bruford the drummer-of-choice for collaborations with leading musicians around the world.

For this anthology, Bruford has selected 70 tracks from across his whole career, comprising works from some 23 different artists and bands over a 40-year period. “I’ve deliberately avoided forcing them into industry categories such as ‘progressive rock’, ‘fusion’ or ‘jazz’,” Bruford adds, “on the grounds that most of the music I’ve been associated with fits very poorly into such straight-jackets. Round holes and square pegs come to mind.”

The 6CD boxset Making a Song and Dance includes tracks from YES, King Crimson, Bruford, Bill Bruford’s Earthworks, his work with iconic global guitarists Al Di Meola, Steve Howe and Kazumi Watanabe and collaborations with keyboardists Patrick Moraz and Michiel Borstlap and many others. The package also includes a detailed explanation in a 52-page hardback book, written by Bruford, featuring rare and unseen photos. The outer box artwork, gatefold CDs and booklet have been designed by Bruford’s long-time artist and graphic designer Dave McKean.

Grateful Dead - Dead Ahead [DVD 9, 2012]

Dead Ahead
is a concert video by the Grateful Dead. It was recorded at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on October 30 and October 31, 1980, and released in 1981. An expanded version was released in 2005. In contrast to other Dead concert videos, Dead Ahead contains acoustic as well as electric song performances.

In September and October 1980, the Grateful Dead did a concert tour of shows with three sets each, one acoustic set followed by two electric sets. The acoustic sets were the first the band had performed since the early '70s aside from a few rare one-off acoustic sets in special circumstances. The tour comprised 15 shows at The Warfield in San Francisco, 2 shows at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, and 8 shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

The following year, songs from the tour were released as two live albums, the all-acoustic Reckoning and the all-electric Dead Set.

Dead Ahead contains songs from the last two New York concerts, October 30 and October 31, 1980. Although the video was compiled from multiple performances, and is shorter than one of the three-set concerts, it follows the general format of one of the shows, starting with some acoustic material and proceeding to a longer section of amplified music, including a somewhat edited "Drums" and "Space".

The video also includes several sketches by the comedy team of Al Franken and Tom Davis. These are from the final night of the tour, October 31, which was hosted by Franken and Davis, and broadcast on radio and on closed circuit TV.

Chicago - Chicago at Carnegie Hall 1971 Complete (16 CD, 2021/FLAC+@320)

16-CD deluxe set of Chicago’s best-selling live album, featuring all eight shows from their historic 1971 Carnegie Hall concert series.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Chicago became the first non-classical group to perform six nights in a row at Carnegie Hall 50 years ago. Between April 5 and 10, 1971, the band played eight shows at the celebrated venue (including two matinees) and recorded every one of them. In October of that year, performance highlights were featured on the band’s first-ever live album, Chicago at Carnegie Hall. That quadruple-LP reached #3 on the Billboard 200, was certified platinum, and is still the band’s best-selling live album.
To honor the 50th anniversary of Chicago’s historic concerts, the band will release all eight Carnegie Hall shows in their entirety for the first time in a new 16-CD deluxe boxed set.

Journey - Freedom (2022/FLAC)

Freedom is the fifteenth studio album by the American rock band Journey, released on July 8, 2022, through BMG Rights Management and Frontiers Records.

The album's 11-year gap from Eclipse (2011) marks the longest between two Journey albums to date. It is the only Journey album to feature drummer and producer Narada Michael Walden, as well as the first and only album to feature bassist Randy Jackson since Raised on Radio (1986), with both having departed from the group before its release. It is also the first album since Raised on Radio to not feature original bassist Ross Valory, who was terminated from the band in 2020.

The album's title of Freedom was the original title of Raised on Radio, but was changed by former member Steve Perry.

Grateful Dead: Downhill from Here (DVD 5, 1999/2012)

Downhill from Here is a concert performance video by the Grateful Dead. It was recorded at Alpine Valley Music Theatre, near East Troy, Wisconsin, in July, 1989. Produced by Len Dell'Amico and Grateful Dead Productions. It was released by Monterey Home Video, on VHS in 1997 and on DVD in 1999, with a running time of 2 hours 30 minutes, and by Pioneer Entertainment, on LaserDisc in 1997.

Most of Downhill From Here was recorded on July 17, 1989. However, the last four songs of the first set – "Row Jimmy", "When I Paint My Masterpiece", "When Push Comes to Shove", and "The Music Never Stopped" – have been replaced with the last three songs of the first set from July 19 – "West L.A. Fadeaway", "Desolation Row", and "Deal".

"The Music Never Stopped" from July 17 is included in the albums Weir Here and Fallout from the Phil Zone. The latter also includes "Box of Rain" from July 19, and "Foolish Heart" from that date is a bonus track on Built to Last.

The title of the video is a play on words referring to the steep slope of Alpine Valley's general admission section, and perhaps also to the notion that 1989 through 1990 was the band's final peak period.

  •   Jerry Garcia – guitar
  •   Mickey Hart – drums, percussion
  •   Bill Kreutzmann – drums, percussion
  •   Phil Lesh – bass
  •   Brent Mydland – keyboards
  •   Bob Weir – guitar
