Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Out of This World: Live 1970-1997 (7 CD, 2021/FLAC)

Size mattered to Emerson, Lake & Palmer. And on this seven-CD/10-LP set of five shows from across their career, it’s interesting to note that the 5,000 or so who saw them at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1992 is a drop in the ocean compared to the hundreds of thousands who witnessed their show at 1970’s Isle of Wight festival and 1974’s California Jam, or even the 66,000 who showed up at the Montreal Olympic Stadium in 1977.

VA- Chicago Blues Box [8 CD, 2013/FLAC

The brief and dazzling life of MCM Records was a labor of love that captured many treasurable live performances from the last flowering of the classic Chicago Blues age. A young French woman Marcelle Chailleux Morgantini was married to Jacques Morgantini who changed her life into American jazz and blues.

Guitarist Jimmy Dawkins was a good friend and helped them in Chicago to meet and hear the many good blues musicians that played at the different clubs in Chicago. Marcelle returned from her Chicago pilgrimage filled with excitement. Says Jacques Morgantini: It was the year of Marcelle’s 50th birthday and she came into some money from her family. She said to me, “I do not want an expensive coat or jewels – I want to go to Chicago to record the blues. She knew that it could only be done if she had her own record label and complete artistic control. Marcelle made three trips to Chicago in 1975,1976 and 1977 and arrived with her Nagra machine, a small mixing desk and a selection of microphones.

She recorded live: Magic Slim, Big Mojo Elem,John Littlejohn, Eddie Clearwater,Eddie Taylor, Bobby King,Jimmy Johnson, Luther Johnson Jr.,Willie Kent, James Lyons,Hip Lankchan,Big Vocie Odom,Bluebloos McMahon, Joe Carter and Jimmy Dawkins at “Ma Bea’s”, “Golden Slipper”, “Queen Bea’s”, and “Big Duke’s”, on Chicago west and south side. Many of the blues musicians had not recorded before and can only been found on the Storyville label that issued all the recordings on CD’s. She was at the right place at the right time.

His songwriting partnership with Mick Jagger is one of the most successful in history. His career spans over six decades and his guitar playing style has been a trademark of the Rolling Stones throughout the band's career. Richards gained press notoriety for his romantic involvements and illicit drug use — and was often portrayed as a countercultural figure.

Drive-By Truckers - Welcome 2 Club XIII [2022/FLAC]

Welcome 2 Club XIII arrives June 3 via ATO. It follows Drive-By Truckers’ pair of 2020 albums, The Unraveling and The New OK. The new album gets its title from a venue where founding members Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley performed at the start of their careers. “There were no cool bars in town and Club XIII was the best we had,” Hood said in a statement, “but it wasn’t all that good, and our band [Adam’s House Cat] wasn’t particularly liked there. From time to time the owner would throw us a Wednesday night or let us open for a hair-metal band we were a terrible fit for, and everyone would hang out outside until we were done playing. It wasn’t very funny at the time, but it’s funny to us now.”

Drive-By Truckers primarily recorded Welcome 2 Club XIII at producer David Barbe’s studio in Athens, Georgia. The album features background vocals from Margo Price, Schaefer Llana, and R.E.M.’s Mike Mills.

Buddy Moss - Complete Recorded Works (3 CD, 1992/FLAC) [reuploaded]

Eugene "Buddy" Moss was, in the estimation of many blues scholars, the most influential East Coast blues guitarist to record in the period between Blind Blake's final sessions in 1932 and Blind Boy Fuller's debut in 1935. A younger contemporary of Blind Willie McTell and Curley Weaver, Moss was part of a near-legendary coterie of Atlanta bluesmen, and one of the few of his era lucky enough to work into the blues revival of the '60s and '70s. A guitarist of uncommon skill and dexterity, he was a musical disciple of Blind Blake, and may well have served as an influence on Piedmont-style guitarist Blind Boy Fuller. Although his career was halted in 1935 by a six-year jail term, and then by the Second World War, he lived long enough to be rediscovered in the '60s, when he revealed a talent undamaged by time or adversity.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong discography [2010-2022]

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong
is an American funk jam band from Baltimore, Maryland. The band has garnered a following as a result of their consistent touring, playing as many as two hundred shows a year.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong began in 2009. They released their first full-length album titled Funk E P in 2010. This album name is a play on words says vocalist/guitarist Greg Ormont, and unfortunately the name led people to think this first album was just an EP. In July 2014, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong released their second full-length album titled Psychology. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong has hosted Domefest every year since 2009. The location of the festival has changed periodically but is currently held at Legend Valley in Thornville, OH. In a 2017 interview, Greg Ormont (vocals/guitar) said, "We met in college at the University of Maryland and the dorm project turned into the real thing. We've been playing for over 8 years. We've been touring the country for 4–5 years and just having a blast spreading our high energy psychedelic funk and good vibes. We like to bring the party and show people a diverse time that is positive and fun and everyone leaves a happier person.”

Bruce Hornsby - 'Flicted [2022, FLAC]

Bruce Hornsby is a musical chameleon. Whether it’s pumping out chart-topping hits with his MTV-era cohorts The Range, collaborating with country music mainstays such as Ricky Skaggs and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band“, or scoring a grammy-winning instrumental track for the Olympics with jazz legend Branford Marsalis, the Williamsburg, VA native has never been content to be boxed into any one particular genre.

Even now, nearly fifty years after his first-ever public performances with his older brother Bobby Hornsby’s Grateful Dead-centric band Bobby Hi-Test & The Octane Kids, Mr. Hornsby remains as innovative and relevant as ever, thanks in part to his continued symphonic alliances with influential modern artists, including NYC’s renowned chamber ensemble yMusic and indie paragon Justin Vernon.

Flicted, the latest studio offering from the ivory tickling minstrel, continues his dexterous ways with a formidable collection of material that challenges the listener, without being too overbearing, and is bolstered by a fresh batch of inspiring collaborations with some of today’s most prominent musicians, including Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend) and Danielle Haim (Haim).
