Nirvana - Transmission Impossible, (3 CD, 2015)

Legendary Radio Broadcasts From The 1980s-1990s
Broadcasts from 7 different performances

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Transmission Impossible (3 CD, 2015)

This 3 CD collection features a triumvirate of live Stevie Ray shows, all taken from FM Broadcasts, performed throughout the period when his star was shining brightest. The first of these, on DISC ONE of this set, is the early show played at the Spectrum in Montreal, Canada, on August 17th 1984, a few months following the release of his second album, Couldn t Stand The Weather, and thus featuring a number of cuts from that record, but mixing it up too with earlier songs and covers. It should be noted this is a completely different show to that now featured on the Deluxe Edition of Couldn t Stand the Weather, which is the late set, albeit performed on the same day The second show.

The Byrds - Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2015]

Featuring three full length FM Radio Broadcasts of performances by different incarnations of The Byrds, in 1968, 1973 and 1978 (albeit by then billed as McGuinn, Clark and Hillman) this boxed set provides an excellent showcase of this ever-changing groups live work during the decade that immediately followed their pop career in the earlier part of the 1960s. The first show featured, from the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco in November 1968, was performed at a time of great change and uncertainty. Gram Parsons, who had joined a faltering line up in early 68, had departed prior to a disastrous tour of South Africa for which McGuinn notably had received much criticism. By September 1971, when the performance on the second disc of this set was transmitted, the only further change in line-up had been the replacement of John York - who had been asked to leave in September 1969 - with session bassist Skip Battin. Requiem for the Timeless, is the often overlooked McGuinn, Hillman & Clark project of 1978/79. The album they recorded together was lacklustre and featured an irritating disco-ish backing, but the live shows were magnificent. And at one-such hosted by The Boarding House venue in San Francisco on February 9th 1978, those present were treated to four original members for the price of three when David Crosby showed up. Disc Three of this package features this legendary show in its entirety.

The Doors– Transmission Impossible (3 CD, 2019) [FLAC + 320]

The classic radio broadcast live recordings of The Doors presented in this TRIPLE-CD set are both unique and controversial. Included are live versions of hits and fan faves as performed in Detroit and Seattle, in 1970. The third disc offers tracks that were recorded for television transmission between 1966 and 1968! Indeed, for the many fans, old and young, this is an essential collection!

Bon Jovi– Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2015]

More than 30 years into a quite staggering music career, Bon Jovi remain one of the most popular, successful and downright entertaining rock groups in history. And with an army of fans who would all but die for their heroes, this extraordinary act don t look to be cashing-in anytime soon.

This superb set captures Jovi in concert and in interview and features across its 3 discs, one CD featuring a full live FM Broadcast from 1984, one CD featuring a mixed bag of live TV appearances from across the group s career, and one CD featuring broadcast interviews with Jon and the lads again recorded at different junctures during their long and ongoing time in the business.

Gram Parsons - A Song For You [7 CD, 2017] (FLAC + 320)

American singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist Gram Parsons is best known for his work with the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers. He also popularized what he called “Cosmic American Music”, a hybrid of country, rhythm and blues, soul, folk, and rock. He recorded as a solo artist and with the International Submarine Band, the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers. His relatively short career was described by AllMusic as “enormously influential” for country and rock, “blending the two genres to the point that they became indistinguishable from each other.” His health deteriorated due to several years of drug abuse and he died in 1973 at the age of 26. The official cause of death was an overdose of morphine and alcohol.

Tom Petty - Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2015] (FLAC + 320)

His first album hit the streets in 1976 and initially its arrival caused few heads to turn. Music fans were confused; were these a bunch of punks or 1960s revivalists with a liking for Gene Clark era Byrds? Fortunately, as is so often the case, the UK seemed to 'get it' pretty soon after the record s release there and it reached #24 on the British chart. News traveled West, and a full year after the home turf release Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers entered the Billboard chart. Shortly thereafter second album You're Gonna Get It! was released, and became a hit right away. The rest, as they say, is history. But it s relatively recent history about which any number of books, films and of course superlative albums are readily available for students of this remarkable performer to delve into.

Little Feat- Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2015] (FLAC + 320)

With an influence as far reaching still as their musical eclecticism was during the band s golden era, Little Feat remain one of the very finest American groups of the 1970s. And while their classic LPs from that time remain essential, it was during their live shows that they transcended mere excellence and took proceedings to somewhere quite extraordinary, if not supernatural. This delightful triple disc set captures perfectly the mighty Feat doing exactly what they did best, when they were doing it best. Featuring three complete FM radio broadcast recordings from the years 1973, 1974 and 1975 respectively, during which the true nature of this legendary act, nay institution, is revealed in dynamic performance and magnificent audio quality, this collection will surely become a fixed asset in the collections of fans the world across. The first disc here includes the group s performance at the intimate Ebbets Field venue in Denver Colorado, recorded on 19th July 1973, just a few months after the release of Dixie Chicken, arguably Little Feat s most cherished album. Next up comes the 1974 in-studio recording they made for transmission at New York s Ultrasound Studios on 19th September that year, shortly after Feats Don t Fail Me Now came out, another favourite LP among those in the know. Finally, the set concludes with one of the most famous gigs they ever performed, the 1975 Halloween show from Boston s majestic Orpheum Theatre, a recording made a month before The Last Record Album was issued.

Jerry Garcia & Bob Weir - Fall 1989: The Long Island Sound 1989 [6 CD, 2013] (FLAC-HD + 320)

Fall 1989: The Long Island Sound contains two complete concerts. At each of these shows, Bob Weir and Rob Wasserman played a set of acoustic music, followed by two sets by the Jerry Garcia Band, a rock group led by Jerry Garcia. At the time, Weir and Garcia were the guitarists for the Grateful Dead. Each of the discs of the album corresponds to one of the sets from the concerts.

David Gilmour - Live at Pompeii (2 CD, 2017) [Hi-Res FLAC]

45 years after Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour filmed ‘Live At Pompeii’ in the legendary Roman Amphitheatre there, he returned for two spectacular shows, part of his year-long tour in support of his No.1 album ‘Rattle That Lock’. The performances were the first-ever rock concerts for an audience in the stone Roman amphitheatre, and, for two nights only, the 2,600 strong crowd stood exactly where gladiators would have fought in the first century AD. The show includes songs from throughout David's career, as well as many Pink Floyd classics, including 'One Of These Days', the only song that was also performed at the band’s 1971 show. Both concerts also saw very special performances of 'The Great Gig In The Sky' from 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' which David rarely plays as a solo artist. The 2-disc concert CD was produced by David Gilmour, and mixed by Andy Jackson and David Gilmour. David Gilmour Live At Pompeii’ shows an artist at the top of his artistic game, performing incredible material with his world-class band, in a unique setting on one very special occasion.

Emmylou Harris- Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2017/FLAC]

Probably the most consistent country artist of the past 40 years, and if not the mother of nu-country, then certainly one of its main informants, Emmylou Harris remains as popular and dynamic a performer today as she ever was. This triple-set collection features three superb FM broadcast recordings from across the girl s career to date. Beginning with a show she performed with Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels in 1973, this is followed on Disc 2 by a set recorded in Illinois a couple of years later in 75. This collection is then concluded with Emmylou s classic appearance at The Bottom Line, New York with Spyboy as her backing band.

The Allman Brothers Band - Down in Texas '71 [2021/FLAC]

Down in Texas '71 is a live album by the Allman Brothers Band. It was recorded on September 28, 1971 at the Austin Municipal Auditorium in Austin, Texas.

This recording features the original lineup of the Allman Brothers Band. Saxophonist Rudolph "Juicy" Carter sits in on six of the nine songs.

Stephen Stills- Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2017] (FLAC + 320)

Having spent over 50 years forging a quite extraordinary musical career, Stephen Stills remains a stunning musician, a consummate performer and the first person to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice on the same night, as he was in 1997 as a member of both Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

This triple-disc collection contains a selection of live radio broadcast recordings of Stephen in concert, made at various junctures during the man s awesome solo career. First up, disc one features two such transmissions, recorded in the fall of 1976 in Portland, Oregon and New York City in the wake of his own Illegal Stills album, and his joint record with Neil Young Long May You Run, both released earlier in 76. Next up, on disc two, Stills appearance at the 1978 Bread & Roses Festival is featured in its entirety, played about a month after the release of his Thoroughfare Gap album. However, he only performs the title track from the recent release, along with his version of Buddy Holly s Not Fade Away , filling his set instead largely with oldies and covers. On the third CD, Stephen s more recent but still wonderful concert from Las Vegas in 1995 is included, a show renowned as being among the finest, most electric shows Stills ever performed.
