Emmylou Harris- Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2017/FLAC]

Probably the most consistent country artist of the past 40 years, and if not the mother of nu-country, then certainly one of its main informants, Emmylou Harris remains as popular and dynamic a performer today as she ever was. This triple-set collection features three superb FM broadcast recordings from across the girl s career to date. Beginning with a show she performed with Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels in 1973, this is followed on Disc 2 by a set recorded in Illinois a couple of years later in 75. This collection is then concluded with Emmylou s classic appearance at The Bottom Line, New York with Spyboy as her backing band.

Stephen Stills- Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2017] (FLAC + 320)

Having spent over 50 years forging a quite extraordinary musical career, Stephen Stills remains a stunning musician, a consummate performer and the first person to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice on the same night, as he was in 1997 as a member of both Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills & Nash.

This triple-disc collection contains a selection of live radio broadcast recordings of Stephen in concert, made at various junctures during the man s awesome solo career. First up, disc one features two such transmissions, recorded in the fall of 1976 in Portland, Oregon and New York City in the wake of his own Illegal Stills album, and his joint record with Neil Young Long May You Run, both released earlier in 76. Next up, on disc two, Stills appearance at the 1978 Bread & Roses Festival is featured in its entirety, played about a month after the release of his Thoroughfare Gap album. However, he only performs the title track from the recent release, along with his version of Buddy Holly s Not Fade Away , filling his set instead largely with oldies and covers. On the third CD, Stephen s more recent but still wonderful concert from Las Vegas in 1995 is included, a show renowned as being among the finest, most electric shows Stills ever performed.

Eric Clapton - Transmission Impossible (3 CD, 2018 /FLAC)

Eric Clapton's musical output across a career spanning 55 years and counting, has been nothing short of extraordinary. But added to this, that the lion s share of his work has been of a quite staggering quality, with more than occasional brilliance displayed, has made Clapton one of a handful of musicians, composers and performers from the rock age who patently deserve their place at the top table of the industry.

Grateful Dead - Transmission Impossible - The Benefit Shows (3 CD, 2018/FLAC-HD)

Renowned for having regularly performed concerts that ran in excess of three hours, when the occasion demanded such -such as at all-star benefit gigs - Grateful Dead could still bring the house down when playing sets lasting between an hour and ninety minutes. This triple disc sets features three such occasions from the Dead's glorious catalogue of live broadcast recordings, which prove the above without exception.

Disc One is an early show for the band from November 19th 1966, recorded at Bill Graham s Fillmore, with the gig benefitting the venue itself, which was losing money at the time.

Disc Two features the groups set at the Cambodian Refugee Benefit on January 13th 1980, held at the Oakland Coliseum Arena, and again organised by Bill Graham, in support of those who d had to flee their homes following the 1979 invasion of Cambodia by Vietnam.

David Bowie- Transmission Impossible [3 CD, 2018] (FLAC + 320)

David Bowie s output from the late 1980s and 1990s has been reassessed in all the right quarters since the great man s tragic passing in 2016, and has rightfully now been awarded plaudits often denied the releases and concerts from this era at the time they took place. This triple disc set goes some way to contributing to this effort by bringing together broadcast recordings form 1990 and 1992. The first of these was recorded at Bowie s gig in Buenos Aires in August of 90, while the second is from Tin Machine s legendary tour of Japan in the early part of 92, with the show presented here being the group s performance at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on 17th February. The set is completed with a disc of television appearances recorded between 1975 and 1995, which features some of Bowie s best ever live TV spots.
