Eric Clapton - Eric Clapton [Anniversary Deluxe Edition] (4 CD, 2021/FLAC)

Eric Clapton‘s eponymous debut album will be expanded and reissued as a four-CD deluxe edition in August.

The album was originally released in August 1970, so this is technically a 51st anniversary edition. The deluxe edition offers three different mixes:

  •     The Eric Clapton Mix
  •     The Delaney Bramlett Mix
  •     The Tom Dowd Mix (The UK Version).

The Tom Dowd Mix is the standard UK version, while the Delaney Bramlett mix was unreleased until 2006 when it appeared on the two-CD deluxe edition. The Eric Clapton mix is released in full for the first time.

The bonus material on CD 4 was mostly included on that same two-CD deluxe although this new edition does include a previously unreleased alternate mix of ‘Comin’ Home’.

VA - The Many Faces Of Eric Clapton (3 CD, 2016/FLAC)

We all know that Eric Clapton is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. What is not that well known, is that he has collaborated with artists such as blues legend Pinetop Perkins, Jamaican guitarist Arthur Louis or trombonist Chris Barber (an institution within British music). Moreover, few probably have heard the versions of his songs by Koko Taylor and Ann Peebles, and we're pretty sure that almost no one has delved into the obscure blues records that have influenced Clapton early in his career. This is The Many Faces Of Eric Clapton, a deep look into the intimate world of one of the best British artists ever. A different kind of album to collect... and that it won't be available on streaming services!

Cream – Goodbye Tour (Live 1968) [4 CD, 2020/FLAC]

The Cream album Goodbye, `Goodbye Tour - Live 1968' now available in a special, expanded edition and the first authorized release of these four historic complete 1968 concerts. Each concert features previously unreleased tracks and the Royal Albert Hall show hasn't featured on CD until now. This historic collection features 36 tracks, 29 of which have not been released until now.

Eric Clapton- Forever Man (3 CD Deluxe, 2015/FLAC)

Legendary songwriter, vocalist, guitarist and 19-time Grammy Award-winner Eric Clapton has  released a brand-new ‘Best Of' compilation, entitled Forever Man. Featuring 51 tracks over three CDs, Forever Man spans three decades of Clapton's Reprise Records years and features classic studio tracks and a Blues-themed disc.

The collection traces much of Clapton's career featuring the Grammy Award-winning tracks "Change The World", "Tears In Heaven", "Bad Love" and including materials from Eric's Grammy Award-winning albums From The Cradle and Unplugged. Guest performers include B.B. King and J.J. Cale.

Eric Clapton & Duane Allman- 1970-08-27 Criteria Studios, Miami, FL (2 CD) [FLAC]

"Tom Dowd is responsible for introducing Duane Allman and Eric Clapton. In 1970, Dowd was in the middle of recording the Allman Brother's second album, Idlewild South, when Eric's manager (Robert Stigwood) called to tell Tom that Eric would like to bring his new band, Derek and the Dominos, to Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida to record with him.

Tom later recounted the phone call that began it all. Now when the call came I was in the studio with Duane. I said, Hey, that's a hot one, kid! That was Eric Clapton's management talking about him coming here to record. Allman looks at me and goes You mean the guy from Cream? Do you think he'd mind if I just came to watch. I told him, no problem.

Eric and the rest of the Dominos arrived at Criteria Studios in late August. During the first week, most of the studio time was spent jamming and piecing together new songs."

Derek And The Dominos - The Layla Sessions 20th Anniversary Edition (3 CD, 1990/FLAC)

The Layla Sessions: 20th Anniversary Edition (or The Layla Sessions) released September 1990 is an anniversary remix of the 1970 Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs album by Derek and the Dominos. The album contains the original album, remixed to improve audio quality, and, in the 3-CD edition, two extra discs of unused alternate and incomplete masters of the original songs and studio jamming. The box set was designed by Mitchell Kanner.

B.B. King & Eric Clapton - Riding with the King (Deluxe Edition) (2020.FLAC)

Riding with the King
is a blues album by Eric Clapton and B.B. King that was released in 2000. It was their first collaborative album and won the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album.

The potential for a collaboration between B.B. King and Eric Clapton is enormous, of course, and the real questions concern how it is organized and executed. This first recorded pairing between the 74-year-old King and the 55-year-old Clapton was put together in the most obvious way: Clapton arranged the session using many of his regular musicians, picked the songs, and co-produced with his partner Simon Climie. That ought to mean that King would be a virtual guest star rather than earning a co-billing, but because of Clapton's respect for his elder, it nearly works the other way around. The set list includes lots of King specialties -- "Ten Long Years," "Three O'Clock Blues," "Days of Old," "When My Heart Beats Like a Hammer" -- as well as standards like "Hold on I'm Coming" and "Come Rain or Come Shine," with some specially written and appropriate recent material thrown in, so King has reason to be comfortable without being complacent. The real danger is that Clapton will defer too much; though he can be inspired by a competing guitarist such as Duane Allman, he has sometimes tended to lean too heavily on accompanists such as Albert Lee and Mark Knopfler when working with them in concert. That danger is partially realized; as its title indicates, Riding With the King is more about King than it is about Clapton. But the two players turn out to have sufficiently complementary, if distinct, styles so that Clapton's supportive role fills out and surrounds King's stinging single-string playing. (It's also worth noting that there are usually another two or three guitarists on each track.) The result is an effective, if never really stunning, work.

  •     Eric Clapton – guitar, co-lead vocals (tracks 1, 3–9, 11, 12)

Cream - Those Were The Days [4 CD, 1997/FLAC]

Those Were the Days is a retrospective compilation of the music of Cream, released on September 23, 1997. It comprises four CDs and catalogues every track from their four studio albums, plus live material recorded in 1968.

The title is taken from the song written by Ginger Baker and Mike Taylor, released on the album Wheels of Fire in 1968.

Blind Faith - Blind Faith (2 LP, 1969/2013) [FLAC]

Blind Faith's first and last album, more than 30 years old and counting, remains one of the jewels of the Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, and Ginger Baker catalogs, despite the crash-and-burn history of the band itself, which scarcely lasted six months. As much a follow-up to Traffic's self-titled second album as it is to Cream's final output, it merges the soulful blues of the former with the heavy riffing and outsized song lengths of the latter for a very compelling sound unique to this band. Not all of it works -- between the virtuoso electric blues of "Had to Cry Today," the acoustic-textured "Can't Find My Way Home," the soaring "Presence of the Lord" (Eric Clapton's one contribution here as a songwriter, and the first great song he ever authored) and "Sea of Joy," the band doesn't do much with the Buddy Holly song "Well All Right"; and Ginger Baker's "Do What You Like" was a little weak to take up 15 minutes of space on an LP that might have been better used for a shorter drum solo and more songs. Unfortunately, the group was never that together as a band and evidently had just the 42 minutes of new music here ready to tour behind.
